Welcome to Everyday Resilience Counselling - Counselling for Children, Teens and Adults
Supporting anxiety, emotional regulation, grief, relationships and life challenges
As a qualified counsellor, I provide confidential counselling for children, teens, adults, couples and families navigating life’s challenges.
At Everyday Resilience Counselling, I support people experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, anger management, stress, workplace challenges, relationship difficulties and crisis.
I am particularly passionate about working with children and teenagers, helping them build emotional regulation, resilience and confidence, while also supporting adults, couples and professionals navigating workplace stress, burnout, leadership pressures and life transitions.
I work with children and young people of all neurotypes, including those with ADHD, Autism and other neurodivergent experiences, focusing on understanding their strengths, needs and ways of navigating the world.
Many clients also enjoy the gentle support of Elpi, my therapy dog, who helps create a calm and welcoming counselling environment.
Hi, I am Lydia
(and this is Elpi, the Therapy Dog)
I am a bachelor qualified counsellor, registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) level 3, dedicated to nurturing growth and well-being in individuals, with a focus on children, teenagers, and young adults.
My belief that everybody deserves a second chance and the opportunity to be seen for who they truly are led me to become a Chaplain, Pastoral Care leader, and Counsellor. To be able to provide support, guidance and hope to individuals and provide an ear for them to share their thoughts and struggles is something that I will always see as a privilege to be able to be part of their journey.
Although I collaborate with parents/caregivers and teachers to help support in the areas of emotional regulation, depression, anxiety, ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence, confidentiality is still maintained with the person. Working together with all parties provides a strong network of support and success.

Building Resilience
At Everyday Resilience Counselling, we understand that everyone faces unique challenges. These challenges can be from loneliness, society or school pressures, home life, social pressures which all can impact our lives at some point.
My approach is flexible and tailored to each person, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and play-based strategies.
Each session is tailored to the individual, ensuring a personalised experience. Everyday Resilience offers flexible options including face-to-face sessions, on-site school sessions, and online sessions, catering for students under NDIS plans to provide a holding space and support the child providing strong collaboration between schools, parents, and health professionals.
Emotional Regulation and Improving of Executive Function
Have you ever wondered why it can feel hard to manage emotions, stay focused, or cope with change?
Emotional regulation and executive functioning are skills that develop over time. These include managing big feelings, staying organised, flexible thinking, and being able to pause before reacting.
At Everyday Resilience Counselling, I support children, teenagers and adults to strengthen these skills in a way that feels safe and achievable. Together, we build awareness, develop practical strategies, and support greater confidence and day-to-day functioning.
